Mathes Mennell takes on Academics and Educational Partnerships role with PCDA - Pre-College Development Academy

Mathes Mennell Assumes Role as National Director of Academics and Educational Partnerships for PCDA

[March 2024, Minneapolis, MN] – Mathes Mennell, a seasoned leader with an extensive background in collegiate soccer, athletics, and educational development, has been appointed as the National Director of Academics and Educational Partnerships for the Pre-College Development Academy. With a comprehensive NCAA coaching background, including roles at the University of North Carolina Asheville, Loyola Marymount University, Warren Wilson College, and the United States Air Force Academy, Mennell has a deep understanding of the intricacies of collegiate soccer and the importance of academic excellence in preparing players for their next steps in their development process.

In addition to his NCAA coaching experience, Mennell has significantly contributed to developing young people in youth soccer programs nationwide. During his time with USYS West Region ODP, LA Galaxy Youth Academy, LA Galaxy South Bay, and Highland Football Club, he has played a pivotal role in nurturing young talent and promoting the growth of the sport and
the players who play it.

A United States Air Force Academy graduate, Mennell will graduate in May 2024 with an Ed. D. from East Tennessee State University. He also holds a Master of Arts in General Education from Loyola Marymount University.

In his new role as National Director of Academics and Educational Partnerships, Mennell will leverage his expertise to enhance academic support services for student-athletes and develop and strengthen collaborations with educational institutions nationwide. His passion for empowering individuals and promoting lifelong learning will undoubtedly drive PCDA’s mission forward.
